Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group

Welcome to the Coastal West Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CWS CCG) Website.

CWS CCG was formed in July 2010 bringing together 5 Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) localities representing Adur, Arun, Cissbury (Worthing), ARCH (Chichester/Bognor) and Chanctonbury areas.  We cover 56 practices with a registered population of 488,000 people. Following the publication of the NHS White Paper, the Federation became a first wave GP Consortia Pathfinder group.

Our organisation is guided by a set of key principles: that we will commission high quality care that delivers equitable patient outcomes and best value for taxpayers’ money; that our CCG will be clinically led and managerially enabled; that we will commission services across whole pathways and involving the whole health and care system.

Building on these principles CWS CCG is clear about its mission to:

“ensure that the people served by it have access to the highest quality healthcare, enabling them to live the healthiest and most active lives possible.  We will deliver this with sound clinical, managerial and business governance, involving patients, staff and clinicians in an equitable, transparent and needs based commissioning process upholding the values of the NHS.  We will ensure that we live within our means and that the public have a strong voice in prioritising the resources available to us.”
